About the position

The Inventory SC Analytics & Insights Manager at Diageo will play a pivotal role in advancing inventory supply chain analytics within the organization. This position is designed for an individual who can lead cross-functional partnerships with Global, Finance, Supply, and Commercial teams to embed key priorities such as Segmentation, Strategic Material Management, Supply Chain Resilience, Inventory Management, and Strategic Planning. The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to the Supply Chain Planning & Logistics (SCP&L) team, driving sustainable business improvements in inventory management, cost efficiency, and service delivery. This role is crucial for supporting the Planning and Logistics operating strategy, which aims to meet both short-term (18 months) and long-term (3-5 years) business objectives. In this role, the manager will be responsible for identifying and implementing best practices in Inventory Management, including Manufacturing Cycle Design, Inventory Optimization modeling, and Raw Material Inventory Optimization. The individual will also ensure compliance with Global, Central Finance, and Supply Finance requirements regarding inventory and service levels. A significant aspect of the role involves managing an Inventory Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Leading Estimates (LEs) of approximately $500 million, driving a 3-5 year Inventory Strategy, and facilitating the identification of inventory opportunities, such as vendor inventory policies and new market routes. Additionally, the manager will engage in end-to-end Product Life Cycle Management, overseeing inventory holding policies for new product innovations and strategies for product discontinuation. Establishing strong business partnerships with key cross-functional partners is essential for driving decisions, solutions, and engagement across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and embed best in class practices in Inventory Management, including Manufacturing Cycle Design and Inventory Optimization modeling.
  • Ensure compliance with Global, Central Finance, and Supply Finance requirements around inventory and service.
  • Develop and track an Inventory Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Leading Estimates (LEs) of approximately $500 million.
  • Drive a 3-5 year Inventory Strategy, Projections, Business Partnering, and Investment.
  • Facilitate and provide leadership in identifying inventory opportunities, such as vendor inventory policies and new routes to market.
  • Engage in end-to-end Product Life Cycle Management, including inventory holding policies for innovation and product discontinuation strategies.
  • Establish strong business partnerships with key cross-functional partners to drive decisions and solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, Inventory Management, and Finance within the beverage alcohol industry or a fast-paced CPG company.
  • Established capability and communication skills to lead, coach, and influence key partners across various levels of the organization.
  • Experience with leading and developing a team of direct reports or equivalents.
  • Demonstrated use of a variety of data analysis and organizational tools to uncover insights.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders and different teams across the organization.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with supply chain optimization platforms (ERP / master data, time-phased replenishment planning systems).
  • Solid understanding of one or more Supply Chain operational processes such as demand, I&BC, RCCP, Segmentation, DRP, MPS, MRP, MSM.
  • Hands-on experience in DRP, RCCP, and at least one other supply chain process.
