About the position

The Inventory Control and Demand Planning Manager is responsible for leading the inventory and master scheduling group, focusing on routing, lead times, material coordination, and work orders to support the overall production plan. This strategic role requires a strong background in inventory control and supply chain management, with a focus on implementing process improvements and leading cross-functional initiatives. The position involves integrating inventory and scheduling plans into newly implemented ERP software and ensuring optimal utilization of labor and materials to meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the inventory and master scheduling group related to routing, lead times, and material coordination.
  • Integrate inventory and scheduling plans into the newly implemented ERP software.
  • Schedule daily work centers and maintain routings and work order documentation.
  • Coordinate materials for production to optimize labor resources and material usage.
  • Supervise a team of 2 inventory staff and manage the cycle count program for high-usage parts.
  • Perform part investigations when inventory discrepancies are reported.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the part number master originating from sales and BOM comparisons from engineering.
  • Work with production management to balance initial scheduling of work orders with capacity.
  • Ensure accurate routing steps and lead times are maintained in the software.
  • Monitor order backlog and recommend capacity planning processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering to create and assure accuracy of routers for engineered products.
  • Prepare schedule planning for work centers and capacity plans for management review.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and provide updates on production reports.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard high-performing individuals adhering to organizational standards.
  • Investigate and resolve service/quality complaints and performance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred) or Associate's degree.
  • 5 years of work experience in Manufacturing, Warehouse Management, Planning, and Inventory Control.
  • Experience with ERP systems, specifically SyteLine or similar software.
  • Strong supervisory or lead experience on a team.
  • CPIM or equivalent ISM certifications in supply chain (preferred).
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
