About the position

As an Inventory Control and Returns Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management and product returns within the organization. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of the Operating Company’s inventory and involves a variety of responsibilities that require strong analytical skills and attention to detail. You will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels, conducting physical counts, and reconciling discrepancies between recorded and actual stock levels. Your ability to collaborate with various departments will be key in streamlining inventory operations and enhancing overall efficiency. In this role, you will count inventory materials and maintain accurate records of total inventory. You will also identify the root causes of variances between clerical computations and physical counts, making necessary adjustments and investigating discrepancies as needed. Monitoring inventory rotations and preparing reports such as inventory balances and production breakdowns will be part of your daily tasks. You will be expected to maintain shrinkage at or below company standards and create best practices to improve inventory control and accuracy. Additionally, you will oversee the check-in and product return processes, ensuring that all counts and item maintenance verifications are accurate. Communication will be vital as you will liaise with vendors, customers, and employees involved in the returns process. Your role will also include reviewing and inspecting all forms and reports related to product returns, coordinating activities with warehouse management, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Counts inventory materials and posts total inventory records.
  • Identifies root causes of variances between clerical computations and physical count of stock and adjust errors and/or investigates discrepancies.
  • Monitors inventory rotations and makes recommendations as needed.
  • Prepares report(s) such as inventory balances, weekly cycle counts, and production breakdowns.
  • Reviews and investigates daily reports.
  • Maintains shrinkage at or below company standard.
  • Creates and implements best practices and solutions to enhance inventory control and accuracy.
  • Ensures the accuracy of the check-in and product return process.
  • Ensures accurate counts and item maintenance verification and notification.
  • Communicates the returns process with vendors, customers, and manages employees involved in the returns process.
  • Reviews and inspects all forms, reports and records relating to product returns.
  • Inspects and reconciles quantities on forms and documents and returns into inventory.
  • Coordinates returns clerk activities with warehouse management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
  • 3+ years of inventory experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and intermediate general computer skills.
  • Must be able to work the schedule/assigned times.
  • Able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
  • Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish products, from various heights weighing between 10-35 pounds and generally up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location, throughout shift.
