About the position

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for controlling, managing, and monitoring product inventory across all warehouses within the company to support the ePlus mission and provide the best possible experience for our customers. This role is crucial in ensuring that inventory processes are efficient and effective, directly influencing the quality of the customer experience. The Inventory Control Manager supervises a team that includes both local and remote members, working closely with other Operations teams, Sales leadership, and various departments to ensure accurate reporting and safeguarding of assets. In this position, the Inventory Control Manager will become a subject matter expert in Supply Chain and Inventory Management. They will oversee, train, assist, and develop the Inventory Control staff, ensuring adherence to defined processes, policies, and procedures. The manager will identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement, implement lean inventory principles, and ensure that all procedures and process documentation are kept up-to-date. Additionally, they will lead by example in following and promoting safety, regulatory, and compliance policies. The role also involves significant inventory management responsibilities, including documenting and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various inventory processes, coordinating with departments to optimize stock levels, and taking ownership of inventory accuracy. The Inventory Control Manager will lead the Supply Chain side of the annual physical inventory count, review and improve inventory reporting processes, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements related to inventory. As a manager, this position requires fostering growth through mentoring and coaching, promoting inclusivity and respect, and collaborating on strategic initiatives to drive innovation within the organization. The Inventory Control Manager will also be expected to cultivate a proactive approach to conflict resolution and ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, train, assist and develop the Inventory Control staff, ensuring adherence to defined processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify, prioritize, and champion opportunities for continuous improvements to support improved quality, growth, and performance efficiencies.
  • Implement lean inventory principles and just-in-time (JIT) concepts where possible.
  • Ensure procedures and process documentation are kept up-to-date.
  • Lead by example by following and promoting all safety, regulatory, and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Work with appropriate individuals, sites, and teams to document & maintain SOPs for inventory processes.
  • Coordinate with various departments to optimize stock levels and order quantities.
  • Coordinate cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and audits at ePlus sites and any 3PL locations.
  • Take ownership of inventory accuracy by site/item and resolve discrepancies on a daily inventory reconciliation report.
  • Lead the Supply Chain side of the annual physical inventory count at all ePlus and 3rd party locations.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Procurement to determine and validate inventory needs and ensure appropriate stock availability.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements related to inventory.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working with a Warehouse Management System (preferably Koerber).
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience as Inventory Control Manager or equivalent.
  • Certification in Planning and/or Inventory Control and Management is preferred (e.g. CPIM, CSCP).
  • Experience managing $150M of inventory.
  • Experience in build/configure/ship-to-order environments with hardware and IT Services.
  • Experience managing multiple global facilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management best practices, industry standards, and compliance.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power BI and Power Query expertise is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
