About the position

As a part-time Inventory Associate at Banner Lassen Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in the supply chain management of the hospital. This position involves a variety of tasks centered around the ordering, stocking, and management of inventory within the medical center. You will be responsible for taking daily inventory of assigned supply storage areas and clinical department supplies, ensuring that stock levels are maintained according to established par levels. This includes requisitioning and restocking supplies, rotating stock, and maintaining a clean and orderly storage area in compliance with regulatory requirements. In addition to inventory management, you will monitor usage patterns and create utilization reports. This data will be essential for consulting with clinical supply liaisons or appropriate department staff to recommend changes to inventory and par levels. You may also assist with the procurement of special supply needs and help departments procure necessary equipment. As a knowledge resource, you will provide guidance to clinical and other related staff regarding supply methods and goods, ensuring that all team members are informed and equipped to meet their needs. This position requires you to work independently under regular supervision, following defined procedures and guidelines. You will be expected to make decisions regarding inventory levels and represent the interests of the organization when interfacing with vendors. Your role is vital in ensuring that the medical center operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall quality of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Take daily inventory of assigned supply storage area and/or clinical department supplies (Par Carts).
  • Requisition and restock supplies to par levels, rotating stock as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly storage area in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor usage and create utilization reports.
  • Consult with clinical supply liaison or appropriate department staff regarding inventory changes.
  • Assist with the procurement of special supply needs and equipment as required.
  • Act as a knowledge resource for clinical or related staff regarding supply methods and goods.
  • Work independently under regular supervision, following defined procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with surgical instruments and supplies is a bonus.
  • Ability to work independently and follow defined procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clinical staff and vendors.
