About the position

The Inventory Control Analyst at Del Monte Foods, Inc. is responsible for managing and ensuring the accuracy of inventory transactions and reconciliations. This role involves investigating discrepancies, maintaining cycle count programs, and supporting various departments to maximize service levels through accurate inventory management. The position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams to resolve inventory-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all daily processing and inventory transactions are completed, including reconciliations, ship confirmations, order adjustments, and invoice adjustments.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and maintain the Cycle Count Program.
  • Reconcile inventory at supporting distribution centers and complete month-end accounting assignments.
  • Support PPIC, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to maximize service levels by ensuring accurate inventory balances.
  • Perform daily and weekly reconciliation of inventory general ledger accounts with inventory accounting.
  • Review inventory reports for trends to verify accuracy and identify efficiency improvements.
  • Oversee all facets of Inventory Control for assigned 3rd Party Distribution Centers (DCs).
  • Maintain daily inventory reconciliation at 100% accuracy for assigned warehouses, including 3PLs and Co-Packs by transaction and by lot.
  • Maintain monthly inventory reconciliation by SKU at 100% accuracy for assigned warehouses, including 3PLs and Co-Packs, per Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Investigate shortages and overages and reconcile reasons for inventory adjustments.
  • Maintain and manage accurate cycle counts of inventory.
  • Research inventory discrepancies to identify issues and initiate corrective action to resolve them.
  • Confirm discrepancies are tied back to the inventory system and all paperwork.
  • Execute daily ship verification processes for assigned warehouses to address invoice issues related to shipping in a timely manner.
  • Oversee daily execution of the return and rebill process to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate with facilities, co-pack accounting, PPIC, Customer Service, and IT on a daily basis to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with field inventory control to ensure proper resolution of inventory general ledger accounts.
  • Process inventory transactions to ensure accurate inventory balances for assigned warehouses, including 3PLs.
  • Process daily adjustments for assigned warehouses according to procedures consistent with company objectives.
  • Support QA with mock recalls.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in the area of inventory control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, accounting, business, or a related area (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • At least 3-5 years of related experience in inventory control and warehouse operations, as well as customer service.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of SAP Inventory systems is strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple tasks daily when required.
  • Strong work ethic with a proven ability to work with deadlines, including occasional weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance in inventory management.
