The Inventory Control and Analysis Specialist 3 at The Ohio State University plays a crucial role in leading the daily operational activities of the FOD Stockroom. This position supports various departments including District, Zone, and Central Shops, as well as Janitorial and MRO supply needs. The specialist is responsible for sourcing specialty items and project materials to meet the organizational requirements across approximately 15 million gross square feet of the Academic District. Key responsibilities include collaborating with managers of multi-disciplinary teams to foster a high-performance culture and working closely with the FDC Project Team on strategic supply chain planning for major construction and renovation projects. In this role, the specialist will plan and manage both onsite and offsite locations by monitoring reports on stock levels, supplier lead times, and the performance of the stockroom and staff, utilizing systems such as CMS and Workday. The position requires monitoring key part stock levels and making informed stock/non-stock decisions based on organizational demand. The specialist will initiate purchase orders and oversee the receiving, kitting, and distribution of items, while also coordinating and directing contractors. Engaging stakeholders to meet or exceed customer expectations is essential, as is advocating for facility supply needs related to capital, security, and health requirements. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for training and developing student employees. The typical working hours for this position are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, but flexibility in shifts, hours, days, and location may be required as operations dictate. The role is subject to 24-hour emergency calls, and successful completion of a criminal background check is required. This position is designated as essential in accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17.
