About the position

The Inventory Control Associate at Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is responsible for ensuring accurate auditing and redistribution of goods within the distribution center. This role involves conducting manual inventory audits, inspecting incoming shipments, and facilitating the transfer of products. The associate will operate various equipment and maintain the integrity of inventory data while achieving productivity goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct manual inventory audits.
  • Inspect incoming shipments.
  • Count stocks manually and with accuracy.
  • Facilitate transfer of product within the facility as well as outbound.
  • Operate equipment including reach truck, stock picker, and walkie rider.
  • Search for product within the facility by use of equipment and/or walking.
  • Achieve productivity goals while ensuring accuracy and integrity of the data collected.
  • Unload/load containers and delivery trucks by hand, with forklifts and other machinery while verifying shipping and receiving paperwork.
  • Confirm products are in the correct racks and locations in the Distribution Center while inspecting and checking merchandise for quality.
  • Report any product damage and work with the IC Manager on any accidents or issues with the product in the DC or on delivery floor.
  • Utilize the computer system to look up inventory information.
  • Keep the distribution center, tools, and furniture clean and support teammates in the DC.
  • Learn product information and keep an eye out for damage or defects.
  • Perform other duties or special projects when assigned.

Requirements

  • Entry-level position requiring communication skills.
  • Time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs., unassisted, moving furniture in the distribution center and warehouse.
  • Willingness to obtain equipment certification at some facilities.
  • Capable of successfully completing pre-employment background, physical, and drug screening.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience operating small power tools.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
