About the position

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for overseeing inventory management processes, including cycle counting and inventory reconciliation. This role requires maintaining high accuracy in inventory records, managing consignment programs, and training team members on relevant procedures. The position also involves collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient operations and providing timely information to the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the cycle counting program and inventory reconciliation.
• Research and resolve inventory inaccuracies and cycle count discrepancies.
• Maintain high accuracy in inventory management, contributing to long-term solutions.
• Manage the steel consignment program for GSB.
• Train team members on cycle counting and barcode scanning processes.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Provide accurate and timely information to the shop floor as needed.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Enter production card data into the computer system promptly.
• Perform additional marginal duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficient in reading, writing, and basic math.
• Competent in computer use, including keyboarding and spreadsheets.
• Previous experience with Oracle is beneficial; APICS training is a plus.
• Ability to generate various production reports from Oracle.
• Solve practical problems in varied situations with limited standardization.
• Interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
• Communicate positively with co-workers and collaborate with diverse teams.
