About the position

The Inventory Control Coordinator at Shorr Packaging Corporation plays a crucial role in managing inventory processes within the warehouse. This position is responsible for coordinating receiving, stocking, order picking, and delivery of products while maintaining accurate inventory records. Additionally, the coordinator manages the SQF quality program to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Performs cycle count and root-cause analysis and prepares necessary documentation for audit reporting.
  • Compiles stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, including weight, freight class, cube and stock location, to make recommendations on stock supply and replenishment.
  • Assists Warehouse Manager with Material Safety Data Sheet (MSD) documentation.
  • Analyzes both vendor and customer returns to ensure that corrective action is documented and feedback is provided to sales department.
  • Reviews files to determine unused or obsolete items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
  • Assists Warehouse Manager with quality assurance program.
  • Assists with work assignments and scheduling for the assembly operation.
  • Executes SQF plans to achieve/maintain Level 2 Certification at our facility and meet all Shorr Packaging requirements related to food safety & quality.
  • Communicates to employees and relevant personnel all information essential to ensuring effective implementation and maintenance of our SQF System.
  • Maintains all training records for critical food safety and quality requirements.
  • Performs daily monitoring activities on SQF programs including: Verification, Validation, Audits and Recordkeeping to ensure completion and compliance.
  • Provides guidance and leadership in situations where deviations have occurred, or a potential risk has been identified related to food safety and/or quality attributes.
  • Re-assesses SQF plan whenever there is a change to program, process, procedure, ingredient, equipment, industry philosophy, or technology.
  • Reviews all SQF related SOPs on an annual basis and coordinates with all other departments to ensure all SOPs are up to date.

Requirements

  • Some college or technical school coursework; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fork Truck certification required.
  • Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel and working knowledge of ERP and WMS systems.
