About the position

The Inventory Control Manager at David Yurman Austin plays a crucial role in overseeing all operational functions of the Retail Store. This position is not only responsible for managing inventory but also may require acting as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager. The Inventory Control Manager must adhere to the operational policies and procedures established to support the achievement of sales and profitability plans. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the store operates efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the business. In this position, the Inventory Control Manager will be accountable for managing and reconciling inventory counts, addressing any discrepancies that arise, and taking necessary actions to control expense costs. The role involves performing inventory maintenance tasks, including inventory movement, audits, shipping and receiving, RTVs (Return to Vendor), and transfers. The manager will effectively utilize the Point of Sale (POS) system and inventory management functions to maximize efficiencies within the store. Collaboration with store management is essential for communicating and implementing new policies and procedures, as well as ensuring compliance with all security and loss prevention policies. Additionally, the Inventory Control Manager will oversee the management of repairs and ensure timely follow-up with clients. They will also be responsible for the development and execution of price changes and, when acting as a manager, will handle the opening and closing of the store as required. This role includes the management, training, and development of the sales support team, as well as troubleshooting IT issues in collaboration with corporate partners. The Inventory Control Manager will actively participate in the development and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at achieving sales and profitability goals, demonstrating an active role on the sales floor when necessary to ensure a positive client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and reconcile inventory counts and communicate any discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years in an operational role within a customer service environment.
  • Prior management experience in luxury retail preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on motivating talent.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
