About the position

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing all inventory control functions within the warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory management through daily cycle counts, slot audits, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining effective communication with the General Manager and other departments to meet customer requirements and operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily cycle counts, slot audits, and reconciliation of activities between systems.
  • Ensures timely reporting and communication to the proper staff as needed.
  • Plans, executes, and reconciles physical inventories.
  • Prepares analysis of adjustments activities report.
  • Researches to reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Oversees all customer return processing and reporting.
  • Ensures daily pre-shift meetings cover productivity, operational problems, and workload forecasting.
  • Supports hiring and onboarding of new employees, ensuring proper training schedules are followed.
  • Communicates department and individual performance goals to ensure operational success.
  • Manages human resources practices with direct reports and adheres to corporate policies.
  • Provides feedback, coaching, and recognition to enhance skill development.
  • Acts as a role model in support of corporate mission, vision, and values.
  • Prepares and presents formal performance appraisals and recommends compensation increases.
  • Stays current on information, tools, and systems for self-development.
  • Travels to other warehouses for meetings as necessary.
  • Provides training for Inventory Control team members and ongoing education for staff.
  • Oversees the Inventory Control department to ensure procedures are followed properly and timely.
  • Attends industry-related seminars as needed.
  • Assists in projects as needed by the General Manager.
  • Ensures safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse to meet service standards.
  • Supports and participates in all safety initiatives in the facility.
  • Implements improvements to prevent recurring accidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities.
  • Excellent talent management and team building skills.
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills with external clients.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed by the customer.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with seasonal work forces is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with or desire to learn performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
