The Inventory Control Manager - AHC is responsible for overseeing inventory control activities at the Sparta Plant along with associated AHC Distribution Centers. This role is crucial in maintaining and enforcing corporate inventory control policies and deadlines. The Inventory Control Manager will interact with staff at all levels to define and carry out inventory control tasks, while also identifying efficiencies to improve service levels and minimize inventory losses. Adherence to all Altium policies, as well as relevant laws and regulatory requirements, is paramount in this position. In this role, the manager will work closely with internal stakeholders such as Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and Procurement. They will plan, schedule, and direct cycle counts at the Sparta Plant and associated AHC Distribution Centers in accordance with corporate policy. The manager will prepare and manage inventory levels, establish new maximum and minimum inventory limits, and dispose of obsolete or slow-moving materials and products. Additionally, they will collaborate with AHC Distribution Center staff and leadership to establish a schedule for counting inventory items on a daily or weekly basis. The Inventory Control Manager will also research and document inventory discrepancies and variances, identifying root causes and providing guidance on proper processes to resolve these issues. They will implement necessary actions to mitigate causes of inventory discrepancies and enforce approval levels of inventory variances by the Plant Manager and SOD/VIP of Operations. Participation in annual cycle counts, which are audited by Accounting, is also a key responsibility. The manager will provide training and ongoing troubleshooting support for warehouse processes related to Inventory Control and production entry errors, acting as a subject matter expert on JDE and RFSmart transactions related to inventory control. Coaching Plant and Distribution Center leaders and team members on effective problem-solving and best inventory control practices is essential. The manager will monitor major quality return transactions to ensure accurate accounting and transaction of inventory. They will also monitor inventory control performance via KPI reports and metrics in Business Objects, reporting on performance and providing improvement action plans to the Plant Manager and SOD/VP of Operations. Compiling, analyzing, and presenting results to stakeholders, soliciting feedback from internal customers, and contributing positively to overall operations by identifying areas for continuous improvement are also part of the role. The manager will adhere to Altium requirements for safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) and oversee the inventory team through hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and performance management.
