About the position

The Inventory Control Manager will provide senior leadership, direction, and strategy for the Inventory Control team that will enable and facilitate the execution of the outlined operational deliverables. This role will be responsible for developing and progressing key customer relationships and operational partnerships vital to drive and support an atmosphere of continuous improvement and operational excellence as it relates to inventory control management. The position is based in our Norman Manufacturing Plant, a state-of-the-art facility supporting the research, design, manufacturing, and testing of our rooftop products. The facility spans 900,000 square feet, including almost 400,000 square feet of laboratory and manufacturing space, along with renovations to over 150,000 square feet of office and meeting space. In this role, you will assist with the implementation of an outstanding Inventory Cycle Counting program to drive accuracy levels at or above 98%. You will ensure inventory accuracy and shrink are supervised and reported timely to leadership, while also improving the performance of the site inventory processes and systems. This includes ensuring care, custody, and control of customer inventory, accuracy to floor and customer book, and proper utilization of information technology. You will also be responsible for providing required documentation in support of compliance requirements and managing the planning and execution of proactive and reactive cycle counts in compliance with the contractual service level agreement. Additionally, you will develop, implement, and validate procedures, controls, and systems that prevent, detect, and correct errors in inventory transactions and balances. Continuous improvement initiatives will be applied to drive process, inventory accuracy, compliance, and timely completion within budget, with documented results. You will design and generate appropriate reporting to track inventory accuracy, shrink compliance, and variance root cause trends. Maintaining detailed knowledge of internal and customer systems will be essential to provide extensive support to the operational team and the customer for inventory and production-related issues. Lastly, you will ensure proper identification and repackaging of scrap or damaged products to ensure timely disposal or return to inventory as damaged merchandise, and develop labor plans and equipment needs budget for review with site leadership.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field highly preferred.
  • 8+ years of Material Management experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • Experience with inventory forecasting, developing master production schedules, and reducing scheduling variances.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with MRP and ERP systems.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex technical procedures, business periodicals, and journals, as well as create reports and procedure manuals.
