About the position

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for leading and directing the inventory control teams within the North America Supply Chain. This role involves developing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational excellence across the distribution center network. The manager will focus on optimizing inventory levels, minimizing costs, and maximizing turnover while collaborating with various teams to drive improvements in inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and own all inventory control policies, procedures, and expectations across the entire DC network.
  • Develop and standardize inventory control strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize carrying costs, and maximize inventory turnover.
  • Set North American KPIs for inventory control and support site QA/IC operations managers to achieve expectations.
  • Analyze inventory data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and inventory optimization.
  • Lead inventory audits at each facility to ensure adherence to established procedures.
  • Communicate with the corporate audit team to validate compliance with documented financial controls as part of SOX compliance.
  • Lead annual physical inventories in partnership with Site Directors at each facility.
  • Partner with finance to report inventory shortages through weekly variance reporting and provide monthly updates to the Vice President of Supply Chain Operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve total inventory adjustments, service levels, and loss prevention.
  • Benchmark with other retailers to innovate strategy and technologies for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee various inventory management programs essential to the supply chain.
  • Drive proactive change management across all levels of the team impacted by process changes.
  • Model behaviors aligned with a customer-centric, high-performing culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years combined experience in inventory control and quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Greenbelt in 6-sigma required; preferred Blackbelt in 6-sigma.
  • Strong ability to perform statistical analysis to improve process control.
  • Proven track record of implementing inventory control initiatives that resulted in improved accuracy, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Experience in developing quality standards and standardizing SOPs.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to Executive leadership team & board of directors.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high quality and accurate work products.
  • Ability to operate with sound reasoning and judgment coupled with a high level of resourcefulness.
