About the position

The Inventory Control Manager is a pivotal role within Good Day Farm, responsible for leading and executing the facility's inventory needs. This includes overseeing supply chain purchasing, receiving, product packaging, and order fulfillment. The manager will drive the facility's inventory program, ensuring that product orders are fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of inventory management processes and the ability to implement effective tracking systems to monitor receiving shipments and operational supplies. In this role, the Inventory Control Manager will develop an inventory tracking system that records all incoming shipments and operational supplies. They will build and manage a team of inventory professionals, which includes roles in receiving, purchasing, fulfillment, and transport. Regular inventory cycle counts will be performed on both supplies and finished products, with thorough analysis and reconciliation processes in place. The manager will conduct daily and weekly inventory audits, ensuring that physical inventory matches internal tracking systems such as METRC and Leaf Link. Collaboration with operations teams is essential to ensure that weekly stock levels are maintained, organized, and updated. The manager will oversee internal inventory transfers to verify quality control and regulatory compliance, while also maintaining a strong understanding of the state's medical marijuana rules and regulations. An efficient order fulfillment process will be created to accept, schedule, pack, and stage orders for delivery, working closely with the sales team to ensure flawless execution of all incoming and outgoing orders. Additionally, the Inventory Control Manager will lead inventory meetings to ensure that packaging supplies and finished products consistently meet customer demand. They will work with accounts payable and compliance teams to address any invoicing or order issues that may arise. The role also involves overseeing all aspects of product packaging inventory, including ordering, auditing, and forecasting, with a focus on reducing loss through efficient ordering and waste identification. Training for both existing and new employees will be a key responsibility, along with managing time, attendance, and performance of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts daily and weekly inventory audits matching physical inventory to internal tracking, METRC and Leaf Link systems inventory.
  • Collaborates with operations teams to ensure weekly stock is available, organized and updated.
  • Oversees internal inventory transfers to verify quality control, regulatory compliance, and physical counts.
  • Learns and maintains continual awareness and understanding of the state's medical marijuana rules and regulations.
  • Creates order fulfillment process to accept, schedule, pack, and stage orders for delivery.
  • Works with sales team on all incoming and outgoing orders to ensure flawless execution.
  • Oversees inventory meetings to ensure packaging supplies and finished product will consistently meet customer demand.
  • Works with accounts payable and compliance on any invoicing or order issues that may require research and investigation.
  • Oversees all aspects of product packaging inventory including the execution of ordering, auditing, and forecasting.
  • Reduces loss through efficient ordering and identification of waste.
  • Trains existing and new employees to perform essential job functions.
  • Manages time and attendance and performance of employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check.
  • Must be able to communicate with GDF Team effectively and professionally.
  • Capable of working without supervision.
  • Understands compliance regulations and adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for specialized areas.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects & tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
