About the position

The Inventory Control Manager at Hitachi Global Air Power is responsible for overseeing the Cycle Count program at the Michigan City manufacturing plant. This role involves leading a team to ensure accurate inventory levels, implementing process improvements, and mitigating inventory loss. The position requires collaboration with various departments to enhance inventory accuracy and involves preparing for annual physical inventories.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer the cycle count program for MCI Facilities, considering ABC Analysis and Count Schedule.
  • Supervise a team of cycle counters, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Develop KPIs and sub-KPIs for measuring continuous improvement, focusing on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Post cycle count variance adjustments and ensure all investigative actions are complete.
  • Prepare variance reports utilizing inventory tools and systems for tracking and analysis.
  • Collaborate with departments for corrective actions to optimize inventory accuracy.
  • Work with the SAP Team to understand process impacts on inventory accuracy.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of annual physical inventory.
  • Train and assist team members as required.
  • Facilitate kaizen events to address complex opportunities.
  • Monitor workloads and provide weekly schedules for direct reports.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business/Finance, or Operations/Supervision preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in Inventory Management, Cycle Counting, and/or supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Inventory Control Software; SAP S4 Hana preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
