About the position

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for leading the inventory control team and ensuring the financial integrity of the market's inventory. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices. The manager will oversee labor planning, associate development, and continuous improvement initiatives while managing inventory adjustments and compliance with SOx regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Labor planning and scheduling of inventory control staff to ensure timely completion of activities.
  • Coaching and developing associates to build a skilled and motivated team.
  • Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and implementing best practices.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional partners to resolve root causes of inventory losses.
  • Monitoring performance metrics and analyzing cycle count adjustments with the Area Director of Finance.
  • Managing the reclamation process for vendor packaging issues and coordinating with buyers.
  • Overseeing non-saleable inventory and ensuring timely resolution with partners.
  • Reviewing and approving customer credit requests while identifying process improvement opportunities.
  • Performing SOx compliance controls, including inventory report reviews and quarterly cycle counts.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in management or supply chain preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in inventory control or warehousing required.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control procedures.
  • Excellent analytical skills and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) preferred.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with timekeeping and warehousing systems.
  • Experience in foodservice distribution preferred.

Nice-to-haves
