About the position

The Inventory Control Specialist position at Hayes Retail Services LLC is designed for an experienced individual who is highly motivated to assist with customer purchase order inquiries. This role requires effective communication with external vendors regarding customer inventory and necessitates a strong skill set in internal report analysis. The specialist will be responsible for developing strategies in a fast-paced environment to address issues that may impact the organization's quality representation. The position is based in Forney, TX, and is not a work-from-home opportunity. In this role, the Inventory Control Specialist will track the resolution of customer issues and establish follow-up procedures with various internal departments. Adherence to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives is crucial, as is the commitment to continuous quality improvement. The specialist will maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, ensuring compliance with all company and OSHA safety regulations. The responsibilities also include working on reports related to bulk purchase orders, cross-dock purchase orders, and conducting audits and inventory counts. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to use logic and deductive reasoning to solve problems, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, and exhibit clear and concise communication skills. Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel, are essential, along with effective scheduling, organization, and time management abilities. The role requires the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a non-climate-controlled environment, often under extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks customer issue resolutions.
  • Establishes and manages follow-up with various internal departments.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continues quality improvement objectives.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follows prescribed safety regulations and complies with all Company and OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Works and resolves reports to include but not limited to the following: Not Received Bulk Purchase Orders, Not Received Cross-Dock Purchase Orders, Inbound Unloaded Not Received, (Bulk) Hold Department Reports.
  • Performs Audit and/or Inventory counts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of inventory responsibility required, preferably in warehousing or shipping operations.
  • Minimum 1-2 years previous customer service experience required.
  • Ability to use logic and deductive reasoning to solve problems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Clear and concise verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Excel.
  • Scheduling, organization, and time management skills.
  • Must be successful in working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently, self-manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment in extreme weather conditions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Forklift operators' experience preferred.
  • RF Scanner experience preferred.
