About the position

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for tracking and managing inventory levels within the Shipping & Receiving department. This role involves performing daily cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS). The specialist will also communicate inventory information across various business units and ensure efficient inventory control processes are in place.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing inventory control.
  • Maintaining inventory records.
  • Reporting inventory levels and issues to management.
  • Managing any discrepancies with inventory.
  • Creating reports that show available inventory or issues with inventory counts.
  • Creating processes to ensure efficient inventory control.
  • Performing cycle counts or checking different sections of inventory on a rotating basis.
  • Reconciling discrepancies.
  • Using the SAP system to communicate inventory information with other business units.
  • Coordinating material flow through various levels of receiving inspection.
  • Inputting, updating, and verifying computer-related systems required to maintain an up-to-the-minute status of material received, returned to vendors, maintained in receiving inspection, and dispositioned to requesting organizations.
  • Handling routine questions and problems and maintaining open communication with other departments.
  • Logging order information into the computer and filing and distributing paperwork as necessary.
  • Maintaining records and generating reports for accounting, customer support, supply chain management, and other organizations.
  • Monitoring inventories on the third-party warehouse website.
  • Performing physical inventories.
  • Physically receiving incoming deliveries.
  • Performing quality checks.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills: demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
  • Ability to use knowledge to provide solutions to a variety of difficult problems.
