About the position

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing warehouse inventory and shipping processes, ensuring adherence to safety policies, and supporting manufacturing operations. This role involves performing cycle counts, analyzing discrepancies, and collaborating with planning and purchasing teams to ensure timely material delivery. The position also emphasizes continuous improvement initiatives and cross-training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and participating in environmental, health and safety (EH&S) programs.
• Ensure knowledge of all warehouse inventory and shipping processes, following and improving procedures as needed.
• Perform department activities to achieve organizational goals, including shipping accuracy and material handling.
• Accurately perform cycle count activities and correct discrepancies, regularly auditing locations for quality and accuracy.
• Stage manufacturing materials according to order requirements and ensure timely delivery in alignment with the manufacturing schedule.
• Connect with planning/purchasing to gain awareness of inbound volume and materials to ship, processing in-house material requests expediently.
• Support Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives as applicable to the work area.
• Develop and complete continuous improvement initiatives and cross-train as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience in distribution, warehouse, or supply chain or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers).
• Comfortable learning new software platforms.
