About the position

The Inventory Controller II position at Pace involves managing inventory records and operations under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance. The role is crucial for maintaining efficient stockroom operations, ensuring accurate inventory levels, and facilitating communication among various departments. The position requires on-site presence and is integral to the maintenance and repair operations of Pace's transit services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all records utilizing the Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Inventory system, and Fleet watch.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing shipments and issue parts to mechanics.
  • Evaluate parts usage from equipment repair orders and manage bus down situations.
  • Review inventory levels and prepare reorder notices to replenish and maintain inventory levels.
  • Verify cycle counts and prepare requisitions and transfers.
  • Maintain Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) inventory balances and fluid levels.
  • Monitor gas readings and maintain a clean and organized stockroom.
  • Develop and maintain good written and verbal communications with Pace staff, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Good work history and previous experience in stockroom operations preferred.
  • Forklift certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
  • Experience using the Oracle EAM and Inventory system is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a garage and stockroom environment with loud noise present.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
