About the position

The Inventory & Demand Planning Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of raw materials inventory, including inbound and on-site materials. This role involves collaborating with site management to forecast raw material demand, creating and managing purchase orders through an ERP system, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The specialist will also develop shipping and receiving standard operating procedures to ensure effective inventory management, supporting the Director of Operations and working with various departments to ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee incoming orders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Ensure all incoming materials are properly recorded in the ERP system.
• Inspect material handling equipment for defects and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Organize and oversee the proper storage of product and raw material inventory.
• Monitor inventory levels and prepare purchase orders for replenishment.
• Coordinate with the accounting team to perform standard physical inventories.
• Work with the Operations Director to coordinate production schedules based on sales numbers and inventory levels.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in production areas and equipment according to standard operating procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Michigan regulations in all processing sections.
• Utilize METRC for seed to sale tracking and perform quality assurance testing.

Requirements

• High School Education or GED; some college or college graduate preferred.
• 2-3 years' experience in warehousing and inventory management preferred.
• Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
• Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative.
• Ability to use and manage METRC effectively.
• Strong communication skills.
