About the position

The Inventory Foreman at Scotts Miracle-Gro is responsible for leading the inventory management of packaging and raw materials within the Growing Media team. This role involves utilizing SAP for monitoring inventory levels, performing routine inspections, executing physical counts, and supporting safety and quality initiatives. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to foster a team environment and ensure high standards of housekeeping and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the inventory management of packaging and raw materials.
  • Utilize SAP to monitor inventory levels vs production schedule.
  • Utilize SAP for production order entry and goods receipts.
  • Perform routine inspections of packaging and raw materials.
  • Execute physical counts for monthly cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
  • Be the plant champion on WCCO (World Class Culture & Operations) initiatives for Culture and Workplace Organization.
  • Support plant Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a team environment and work with vendors to drive superior performance.
  • Set and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Operate equipment, as needed, to maintain warehouse organization.
  • Provide backup support for the Production Foreman and Quality lead.
  • Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and a highly effective communicator with great time management.
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to, Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and/or hours within a seasonal business, including some Saturdays during our busy season.
  • Strong administrative and planning skills.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
