About the position

The Inventory Management Director will oversee and optimize inventory management strategies, processes, and systems to maintain accurate inventory levels and streamline inventory flow. This role is crucial for supporting the company's goals and growth, requiring a strong analytical mindset and a proven track record in inventory management within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize inventory management strategies that align with organizational goals and financial objectives.
  • Oversee inventory control procedures, including accurate record-keeping, stock counting, and reconciliation processes.
  • Analyze inventory data and forecasts to establish appropriate stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and operations teams to improve inventory flow, replenishment schedules, and order fulfillment accuracy.
  • Lead a team of inventory specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Utilize inventory management software and other analytical tools to monitor, report, and forecast inventory needs.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in inventory processes, including reducing excess inventory and managing obsolescence.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to inventory handling and storage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in inventory management and supply chain.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software, with a preference for Acumatica.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Inventory Management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • Experience in a high-volume or multi-location environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement is a plus.
