About the position

The Inventory Management Specialist (Demand Planner) position at the Department of the Army involves applying inventory management and supply planning expertise to balance supply with forecasted demand. The role is critical in developing and managing effective product supply support strategies throughout the life cycle of various systems, ensuring that supply meets operational needs efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

• Applies inventory management and supply planning operations expertise to balance supply to meet forecasted demand by generating secondary item supply action recommendations.
• Plans, develops, implements, and manages effective and affordable product supply support strategies throughout the life cycle for weapons, material, or information systems.
• Leads a team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees per established workflow and skill level.
• Supports the weapon system manager in the development and documentation of the supply support strategy in accordance with policy and regulatory guidance.
• Communicates assignments, project details, actionable events, milestones, and deadlines to the team.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience performing a full range of Demand Planning, including determination, validation, and verification of all requirements.
• Experience analyzing forecast requirements of all required secondary items to support the customer at the lowest total life cycle cost.
• Experience formulating a forecasting strategy, reviewing its effectiveness, and developing recommendations to improve efficiency.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in logistics or supply chain management within a federal agency.
• Familiarity with Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce policies.
