About the position

The Inventory Management Specialist (Demand Planner) position at the Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) involves applying expertise in inventory management and supply planning to ensure that supply meets forecasted demand. The role includes planning, developing, and managing product supply support strategies throughout the life cycle of weapons, materiel, or information systems, while adhering to applicable policies and regulations. The specialist will lead a team in balancing workloads and tasks, support weapon system managers, and communicate effectively with team members regarding project assignments and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Applies inventory management and supply planning operations expertise to balance supply to meet forecasted demand.
• Plans, develops, implements, and manages effective product supply support strategies throughout the life cycle for weapons, materiel, or information systems.
• Leads team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees per established workflow.
• Supports the weapon system manager in developing and documenting the supply support strategy in accordance with policy and regulatory guidance.
• Communicates assignments, project issues, actionable events, milestones, and deadlines to the team.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience in Demand Planning, including determination, validation, and verification of requirements.
• Experience analyzing forecast requirements of secondary items to support customers at the lowest total life cycle cost.
• Ability to formulate a forecasting strategy, review its effectiveness, and develop recommendations to improve efficiency.
