About the position

The Inventory Management Specialist will serve in the Ordnance Program of the Navy Munitions Command, focusing on the management and oversight of inventory operations related to ordnance materials. This role involves utilizing automated systems to ensure the availability and condition of materials, coordinating delivery schedules, and analyzing inventory data to maintain accurate records and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize automated systems to verify availability and condition of materials.
  • Respond to due-in, load schedules, and vessel allowances.
  • Coordinate actions to meet required delivery dates and priorities.
  • Classify materials on automated records and schedule necessary physical changes.
  • Research data and compile reports on space utilization and storage capabilities.
  • Review and implement detailed load plans and schedules.
  • Analyze inventory reconciliation results to identify discrepancies and recommend changes.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have specialized experience or education as outlined for GS-07 or GS-09 levels.
  • Experience in coordinating inventory management operations for ordnance materials.
  • Ability to analyze reports and schedules for inventory management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to ordnance handling.
