About the position

The Inventory Manager at Advance Auto Parts is responsible for leading a team of Demand Planners, Supply and Store Planners to manage inventory effectively. This role ensures that inventory and service levels meet specified targets and support demand planning forecasts. The Inventory Manager collaborates with various teams, including Merchants, Vendors, and Distribution Centers, to streamline processes and enhance inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Demand Planners, Supply and Store Planners.
• Manage inventory and ensure service levels meet specified targets.
• Participate in the annual inventory budget process, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
• Monitor inventory budgeted metrics and highlight areas of risk with solutions.
• Approve promotional forecasts and inventory purchases.
• Drive improvements in in-stock percentage and inventory turnover through accurate forecasting.
• Manage merchandise inventories to achieve planned sales and service levels.
• Communicate inventory changes to Supply Chain teams and improve efficiencies.
• Partner with Merchant leadership to enhance vendor performance in key areas.
• Implement inventory plans and ensure timely sharing of information across teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, Logistics, or Mathematics.
• 5-7 years of related experience in Inventory Management, including 1-2 years of management experience.
• Proficient in MS Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with E3 forecasting and replenishment systems.
• Basic understanding of supply chain processes.
