About the position

The Inventory Manager is responsible for leading a team of Demand Planners, Supply and Store Planners to manage inventory and ensure service levels meet specified targets. This role involves driving processes and relationships with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Demand Planners, Supply and Store Planners.
  • Participate in the annual inventory budget process ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and transparency.
  • Monitor inventory budgeted metrics and highlight areas of risk with solution options.
  • Manage the weekly open to buy process to ensure proper receipt flow.
  • Approve promotional forecasts and corresponding inventory purchases.
  • Partner with the merchant team to accurately forecast sales results and inventory order needs for promotions.
  • Drive increased in-stock percentage and improved inventory turnover through forecast accuracy improvements.
  • Manage merchandise inventories to achieve planned sales, service levels, turnover, and financial strategies.
  • Identify and communicate inventory changes to Supply Chain teams.
  • Collaborate to increase inventory and distribution center efficiencies.
  • Partner with Merchant leadership to improve vendor performance in key areas.
  • Implement inventory plans ensuring accurate and timely information sharing among teams.
  • Proactively seek input and feedback from partners to resolve issues and improve processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, Logistics, or Mathematics.
  • 5-7 years of related experience in Inventory Management, including 1-2 years of management experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business acumen and Supply Chain knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation skills.
  • Ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment while adhering to tight schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with E3 forecasting and replenishment systems.
  • Project management experience.
