About the position

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the tracking of incoming and finished goods materials, packaging supplies, and other inventory-related tasks within a warehousing and distribution environment. This role involves providing accounting support for inventory issues and ensuring that daily operations align with facility goals and objectives. The Inventory Manager reports to the Senior Logistics Manager and supervises cycle counters and a clerk, playing a key role in both operational support and employee development.

Responsibilities

  • Track day-to-day facility inventory costs and support facility KPIs to meet/exceed established goals.
  • Maintain daily reports to measure daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control systems for ongoing and future facility needs.
  • Manage the facility cycle count program and inventory recoup/repack/return/recycle program.
  • Provide floor support to Operations Supervisors and hourly associates regarding inventory issues.
  • Facilitate and execute the hold process for the local site.
  • Assist in the development of employees and conduct periodic performance evaluations of direct reports.
  • Ensure effective communication and shift meetings to provide necessary information for employees.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in logistics, supply chain, or related field.
  • Three (3) years or more of manufacturing/production/distribution inventory experience required.
  • Two (2) years or more of supervisory experience required.
  • Three (3) years or more of PC inventory and accounting skills required.
  • Three (3) years or more of problem-solving skills experience, with formal Root Cause Countermeasure Systems preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA required.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.
  • DOT and Hazmat knowledge may be required based on the account preferred.
  • APICS certification preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to Lean principles, systems, and tools (beginner preferred).
  • Intermediate computer skills (required).
