About the position

As an Inventory Manager at Covetrus in Duluth, GA, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management within our distribution center. This role involves establishing and maintaining inventory processes to ensure compliance with company standards through effective cycle counting, receiving, storing, handling, and shipping of products. You will be expected to continually seek feedback and implement improvements to exceed customer expectations on a daily basis. In this role, you will manage all inventory processes, ensuring the accuracy of cycle counts and making necessary inventory adjustments. You will maintain a clear understanding of daily operations and make informed decisions regarding inventory management. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining a cycle count program, troubleshooting discrepancies, and coordinating with various departments to optimize inventory levels and control costs. You will also act as the primary contact for product recalls, managing the entire recall process effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all inventory processes, including cycle counting, receiving, storing, handling, and shipping.
  • Oversee and validate the accuracy of cycle counts through monitoring and reporting.
  • Make inventory adjustments as needed and determine appropriate product/location setup and moves.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of day-to-day operations and make decisions about inventory based on this knowledge.
  • Perform and manage the development and maintenance of an accurate and timely cycle count program and investigate discrepancies.
  • Troubleshoot all inventory discrepancies using root cause analysis and develop plans for resolution.
  • Evaluate and adjust required replenishment levels in the computer system to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Create, implement, and maintain standards of measurement for inventory management.
  • Process damaged goods/expired products and investigate inventory issues.
  • Coordinate with the Inbound Operations Manager regarding damaged product shipments and determine product viability.
  • Partner with the Purchasing Department to optimize inventory levels and control costs associated with inventory.
  • Act as the main point of contact for recalls and manage the recall process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a warehouse inventory control environment.
  • Minimum of one year of experience with a pharmacy or pharmaceutical wholesaler/distributor required.
  • Minimum of one year of leadership experience.
  • Green Belt or equivalent in Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma preferred.
  • APICS Certification preferred.
  • Forklift Certification preferred; ability to obtain Forklift Certification required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
  • Experience and knowledge in distribution processes (receiving, shipping, and inventory control) required.
