About the position

The Inventory Manager at NorthEast Provider Solutions Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the management of WMCHealth's warehouse and distribution network. This includes ensuring that regional inventory locations maintain the correct stock levels to meet agreed service levels, comply with regulatory requirements, and achieve customer satisfaction for both new and existing clients. The Inventory Manager will be tasked with managing and enhancing inventory, materials management, and receiving processes, ensuring that these align with the purchasing, procurement, and logistics framework of the organization. In this role, the Inventory Manager will lead the development and implementation of an optimal inventory strategy that balances service quality, cost, and access. This includes managing the effective utilization of existing warehousing and inventory facilities across the network. The position requires a strong focus on driving high utilization of standard processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and ensure proper stock management. Performance will be measured against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with results reported to the Business Manager and Senior Leaders. The Inventory Manager will also oversee efforts to reduce the costs associated with handling, issuing, and transporting materials, ensuring an optimal cost/service balance for customers. This includes creating improved processes for recognizing and handling obsolete stock and rationalizing critical supplies and stock locations. Regular reviews of inventory levels will be conducted to minimize stock holdings and ensure turnover, alongside establishing a cycle count calendar to maintain ongoing inventory accuracy. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Inventory Manager will partner with leadership within the Supply Chain to develop and implement demand forecasting strategies that optimize purchasing planning and warehouse utilization. The position also involves working closely with internal and external leaders to ensure efficient customer service while adhering to all internal policies and external regulations. The Inventory Manager will lead a professional staff towards successful outcomes while managing multiple concurrent projects and providing logistics and warehousing support to strategic alliances. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, implementation and review of an optimal inventory strategy to ensure the appropriate balance of service, quality cost and access are maintained.
  • Manages the effective utilization of existing warehousing and inventory facilities across the network.
  • Drives high utilization of standard processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and proper stock management.
  • Ensures performance parameters are measured against Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and reports results to Business Manager and Senior Leaders.
  • Oversees and reduces the cost of handling, issuing, and transportation of materials to ensure the optimum cost/service balance is delivered to customers.
  • Creates improved processes for the recognition and handling of obsolete or sequestered stock and the rational isolation of critical supplies, stock and holding locations.
  • Leads regular review of inventory levels to minimize stock holdings at inventory locations and ensure turnover.
  • Establishes and monitors a cycle count calendar for ongoing inventory accuracy.
  • Leads the ongoing improvement for inventory, materials management and receiving processes within WMCHealth.
  • Partners with leadership roles within the Supply Chain to develop and implement demand forecasting to optimize purchasing planning with the warehouse and utilization planning with the Demand Planning and System Procurement leaders.
  • Collaborates with internal and external leaders to ensure efficient and effective customer service and support while ensuring compliance to all internal policies and procedures and external regulations.
  • Leads professional staff to successful outcomes while managing multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Provides logistics and warehousing support to strategic alliances.
  • Performs all other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Five years of healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Experience with an ERP system including familiarity with materials management inventory concepts, staff motivation, and regulatory standards in a hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory management, purchasing optimization, and supplier performance management.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory, compliance and policy frameworks applied to the relevant activities.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • AHRMM CMRP within two years.
