About the position

The Inventory Manager at Wilderness Hotel and Resort Inc is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Food & Beverage and Supply Commissaries. This role includes managing staff, controlling inventory, and ensuring efficient procurement and organization of supplies. The Inventory Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining inventory accuracy and vendor relationships, while also supervising the Commissary staff and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage and Supply Commissaries.
  • Establish contacts with vendors and negotiate terms of purchases.
  • Maintain procurement records and assess vendor capabilities.
  • Manage the receipt of vendor deliveries and ensure proper organization of commissary areas.
  • Conduct monthly physical inventories and regular test counts of non-commissary inventories.
  • Monitor conditions and standards of food stock and dispose of expired products appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of equipment stored in the Supply Commissary and Off-site Warehouse.
  • Address obsolete or excess stock and recommend disposal methods.
  • Order PPE and maintain monthly inventory of PPE stock.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Six months to one year of related experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables.

Nice-to-haves

  • ServSafe certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus and food preparation.
