About the position

The Inventory Manager at Menasha Packaging is responsible for developing and implementing inventory management strategies that align with the company's objectives in safety, productivity, quality, customer service, cost, and profitability. This role involves directing staffing, training, and performance management to enhance the inventory management function. The incumbent will manage and track product inventories, ensuring financial reconciliation and inventory integrity by providing direction on work in process, finished goods, and aged inventories. In addition to overseeing daily activities such as job packet reviews, cycle counts, audits, and damaged material management, the Inventory Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management processes and information flow. The role also includes overseeing the book-to-book inventory reconciliation and preparing and reviewing necessary business reports to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop inventory management strategies to meet company objectives in safety, productivity, quality, customer service, cost, and profitability.
  • Direct staffing, training, and performance management to improve the inventory management function.
  • Manage and track product inventories, ensuring financial reconciliation and inventory integrity.
  • Direct and prioritize daily activities including job packet review, cycle counts, audits, and damaged material management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management processes and information flow.
  • Oversee the book-to-book inventory reconciliation.
  • Prepare and review required business reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards, and procedures guiding manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing inventory management.
  • Ability to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components.
  • Knowledge of issues and considerations for managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
  • Knowledge of processes, tools, and operational considerations for effective movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle.
  • Knowledge of day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility.
