About the position

The Inventory Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the inventory control processes within Carrier's Charlotte facility. This position involves managing a team of intermediate to experienced professionals in the Materials & Logistics department. The Inventory Manager will be responsible for managing departmental budgets, consulting on various business issues, driving cost reduction activities, ensuring quality control, and leading material and inventory audits. The role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of inventory records and ensuring that all inventory-related processes are efficient and effective. In this role, the Inventory Manager will lead and manage teams that oversee all aspects of inventory control, including cycle counting, receiving, and ensuring inventory accuracy. Strong leadership skills are essential to ensure that inventory levels are accurate and that processes are efficient. The Inventory Manager will oversee and improve a robust cycle counting program to ensure inventory accuracy, reviewing and analyzing cycle count results, identifying root causes for discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions. Regular cycle counting activities must comply with company policies, and the Inventory Manager will monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate records are maintained in the inventory management system. Conducting regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and integrity is a key responsibility, along with implementing and enforcing inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage, obsolescence, and inaccuracies. The Inventory Manager will collaborate with operations teams to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained and will lead the Annual Physical Inventory for the Factory, ensuring that all processes align with the company's operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of professionals in Materials & Logistics.
  • Oversee all aspects of inventory control, including cycle counting and receiving.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and efficient processes.
  • Review and analyze cycle count results, identifying root causes for discrepancies.
  • Implement corrective actions based on cycle count analysis.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and inaccuracies.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Lead the Annual Physical Inventory for the Factory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics and 3PL Management.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.
  • Experience managing relationships with third-party logistics providers.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and systems (SAP Preferred).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience.
