About the position

The Inventory Manager is a pivotal role within WMCHealth, responsible for overseeing the management of the organization's warehouse(s) and distribution network. This includes regional inventory locations, ensuring that stock levels are maintained at agreed service levels while adhering to regulatory requirements and achieving customer satisfaction for both new and existing clients. The position requires a strategic approach to inventory and materials management, focusing on improving processes related to receiving and inventory control, all while aligning with the purchasing, procurement, and logistics framework of WMCHealth. In this role, the Inventory Manager will lead the development and implementation of an optimal inventory strategy that balances service quality, cost, and access. This involves managing the effective utilization of existing warehousing and inventory facilities across the network, driving high utilization of standard processes to maximize efficiency and ensure proper stock management. The Inventory Manager will also be responsible for measuring performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting results to the Business Manager and Senior Leaders. Additionally, the Inventory Manager will oversee efforts to reduce the costs associated with handling, issuing, and transporting materials, ensuring an optimal cost/service balance for customers. This includes creating improved processes for recognizing and handling obsolete stock and rationalizing critical supplies and stock locations. Regular reviews of inventory levels will be conducted to minimize stock holdings and ensure turnover, alongside establishing a cycle count calendar to maintain ongoing inventory accuracy. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Inventory Manager will partner with leadership within the Supply Chain to develop and implement demand forecasting strategies that optimize purchasing planning and warehouse utilization. The position also involves working closely with internal and external leaders to ensure efficient customer service and compliance with all internal policies and external regulations.
