About the position

The Material Handler is responsible for moving and organizing raw materials, sub-components, finished goods, and supplies throughout the shipping and production facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring inventory accuracy and effective organization within the warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Fill requisitions, material or other stock items and distribute items accordingly.
• Remove unused materials from work areas and return them to their proper location.
• Maintain DMR area and coordinate with Inventory Control leadership for disposal.
• Stack skids or pallets in designated areas.
• Clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and place in proper containers or designated areas.
• Mark materials with identifying information using tags or labels.
• Assist with basic material audits, cycle counts, etc.
• Assist Receiving Clerks as needed.
• Move materials through the facility using material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Ensure all incoming materials and supplies are placed in their proper location.
• Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for employee and visitor traffic.
• Assist in maintaining warehouse organization and cleanliness.
• Produce components at expected rates.
• Participate in physical inventory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Company forklift certification and six months experience in a similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees.
• Basic math skills and ability to measure distance using a tape measure or other measuring device.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and working drawings.
• Basic computer knowledge.
