About the position

The Inventory & Operations Manager plays a crucial role within the AI, Compute, and Storage (ASC) team of Meta's Global Supply Chain Operations (GSCO) group. This position is responsible for collaborating with supply chain partners to build, deliver, and enable Meta's AI and Compute and Storage infrastructure. The ASC team is tasked with managing the performance of Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and third-party logistics (3PL) inventory partners, ensuring that key performance metrics such as on-time delivery are met. This role requires a dynamic approach to tackle challenges at tactical, strategic, and foundational levels, working closely with various teams including engineering, new product introduction (NPI), mass production, and sustaining teams. As an operational leader, the Inventory & Operations Manager will be instrumental in optimizing the global supply chain. This position involves direct interaction with internal partners across commodity management, ODM management, and manufacturing, as well as external inventory and ODM partners worldwide. The manager will be responsible for measuring, managing, and improving the performance of inventory partners, while also shaping and implementing supply chain strategies that enhance flexibility, speed-to-deployment, and resilience across Meta's compute supply chain. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can collaboratively update and set the supply chain inventory strategy, lead operational execution, and partner with key stakeholders to ensure timely execution of inventory and 3PL operations. The manager will also develop optionality frameworks, manage 3PL operational output, coordinate interactions between 3PL and ODMs, and perform historical root cause analysis to address any issues that jeopardize on-time delivery goals. Additionally, the manager will need to handle real-time disruptions in the global supply chain and proactively identify risks to manufacturing operations, coordinating with partners to mitigate these risks.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively update and set the supply chain inventory strategy and lead the operational execution of the strategy.
  • Partner with key cross-functional stakeholders including commodity sourcing, ODM operations, commercial sourcing, business systems, accounting, and finance to ensure Meta's inventory and 3PL operations are executed on-time.
  • Help to develop optionality frameworks in conjunction with Planning and capacity management.
  • Manage 3PL operational output including supplier performance.
  • Coordinate 3PL and ODM interaction and execution including PO and material transfer.
  • Perform historical root cause analysis to determine when and where inventory operations jeopardized on-time-delivery goals of the organization.
  • Rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to executive teams and proactively identify and resolve potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.
  • Handle global supply chain or live data center disruptions in real-time with the support of international teams on site if needed and on short notice.
  • Proactively identify risks to manufacturing operations and coordinate with internal and external partners to mitigate risks.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of supply chain-centric technical experience in hyperscale data centers, semiconductor industry, automation/robotics and/or associated industries.
  • Significant operational experience to understand the relationship between supply chain, inventory performance, logistics management, and manufacturing production needs.

  • Experience managing external teams and partnerships.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with experience influencing, driving solutions, building consensus, and leading executives through influence.
  • Proven experience achieving supply chain output under pressurized timelines and industry conditions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Operations Research.
  • 8+ years of technical, logistics, or manufacturing operations experience in the semiconductor, hardware, or consumer electronic spaces.
  • Experience interfacing with internal & external partners in an entrepreneurial and cross-functional environment, requiring a latitude for independent judgment while coordinating people and technical resources.
