Role Summary The Inventory Planning Lead will be responsible for the efficient creation of the inventory plan that is considerate of the demand forecast and production constraints, while extracting patterns and key findings for use in scenario planning. This role will directly drive Rivian's overall demand and supply planning alignment in order to optimize inventory and meet customer demand. Responsibilities Collaborate with Demand and Production teams to generate an Inventory Plan at a product mix and options level that balances customer demand and production requirements Create and implement effective inventory strategies and policies to ensure optimal use of working capital Develop executive level reports to share the health of vehicle inventory and recommend levers to address demand and supply gaps Partner with S&OE, S&OP, and IT teams to drive strategic projects for end-to-end planning capabilities and technologies; especially methods and tools for inventory planning Recommend and continuously improve inventory planning teams for R1/R2 utilizing common processes and tools Support escalation point for inventory plan issues, working with the demand, production, and S&OE/S&OP team for resolution Monitor and recommend corrective actions to update the inventory plan and resolve gaps Analyze and monitor key KPIs and improvement activities that help improve customer service, reduce excess/obsolete inventory, and improve inventory projections Directly interface with planning partners in delivery ops, product strategy, commercial, sales, and marketing, as well as senior leadership Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in supply chain planning APICS certification preferred BA or BS degree in Business, Econ, Data Science, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or related from an accredited university MBA in commercialization, strategy, supply chain planning preferred Proven record of successfully driving organization change and end to end planning efforts with focus in inventory planning and collaborative sales and operations planning; additional experience in cross functional planning activities, such as demand and production planning and S&OE/S&OP is preferred Experience in deploying new processes while building and training new teams in planning Experience in deploying either home-grown or advanced planning systems, such as JDA/Blue Yonder, o9, Kinaxis, SAP APO/IBP etc. Excellent facilitation and people skills Proven ability to lead executive level individuals through decision making and negotiation Experience in understanding inventory planning in the automotive industry Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to listen and speak clearly on telephone Pay Disclosure Salary Range for Irvine, CA and Seattle, WA Based Applicants: $112,100-140,100 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Salary Range for Palo Alto, CA and New York, NY Based Applicants: $121,800-152,300 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
