The Inventory & Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing all plant-level inventory control and planning operations. This role involves managing inventory and planning/scheduling associates and communicating with senior leadership on strategies and plans. The manager will build strategic purchasing and inventory practices for future growth, working with all stakeholders to align production and demand plans. The Inventory & Planning Manager will ensure the achievement of both revenue and inventory goals through a successful Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This includes identifying any bottlenecks or delays in production and ensuring that materials and other resources are available to relieve these issues. The manager will also ensure inventory accuracy throughout the production process and manage scheduling and inventory control associates. Additionally, the role requires ensuring supply continuity through risk management and supplier diversification. Collaboration with finance and operations teams is essential for planning and executing cycle and physical inventory counts and inventory adjustments. The manager will establish purchasing guidelines and policies that comply with established business practices, ethical guidelines, and ISO procedures. It is crucial to keep scheduling and planning for production up to date and ensure that targets are being met. The Inventory & Planning Manager will work in conjunction with Senior Leadership and Internal Departments to support, promote, and monitor the efficient operations of the facility to meet the strategic goals of the organization. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all plant-level inventory control and planning operations.
  • Manage inventory and planning/scheduling associates.
  • Communicate with senior leadership on strategies and plans.
  • Build strategic purchasing and inventory practices for future growth.
  • Align production and demand plans with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure achievement of revenue and inventory goals through successful S&OP process.
  • Identify bottlenecks or delays in production and ensure materials are available to relieve them.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy throughout the production process.
  • Manage scheduling and inventory control associates.
  • Ensure supply continuity through risk management and supplier diversification.
  • Plan and execute cycle and physical inventory counts and inventory adjustments with finance and operations teams.
  • Establish purchasing guidelines and policies in compliance with business practices and ISO procedures.
  • Keep scheduling and planning for production up to date and ensure targets are met.
  • Support, promote, and monitor efficient operations of the facility to meet strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably with concentration in business, engineering, supply chain, operations, or leadership.
  • APICS, CPIM, PMP, ASQ, or Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of technical leadership and people management experience.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Inventory Management, Operations Planning, Logistics, Supply Chain or other relevant environments.
  • A minimum of 3+ years' experience in leadership roles preferred.
  • 5+ years of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Material Resource Planning (MRP) experience, and/or Warehouse Management Software (WMS).
  • Experience leading a centralized team providing support to multiple aligned teams.
  • Strong knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques.
  • Excellent problem solving, issues identification and technical documentation skills.
  • Skilled in coaching and mentoring coordinators in an agile environment.
  • Project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Skilled in multiple software and mainframe applications, using Microsoft Office Suite, SQL and statistical analysis; advanced skill in distribution, inventory, and business systems.
  • Skilled in planning and inventory concepts around product movement, disposition, business processes, and relevant industry compliance.
