About the position

The Purchasing & Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing and inventory control processes for assigned suppliers and product groups, supporting multiple branch warehouses across Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This role focuses on ensuring on-time delivery performance, managing surplus and dead stock, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory management. The analyst will collaborate closely with sales and supplier relations teams to identify and resolve issues affecting inventory performance.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage supplier purchase orders for assigned product groups.
• Monitor performance metrics related to inventory control and communicate issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with the sales team and procurement manager to resolve fill rate and on-time delivery issues.
• Participate in ERP system efficiency reviews and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Implement policies and controls to enforce procurement guidelines across inventory and sales teams.
• Analyze supplier performance metrics and collaborate with teams to resolve target misses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, industrial distribution, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing within B2B wholesale distribution or a similar industry.
• Experience with ERP replenishment systems, particularly EPICORE/P21.
• High proficiency in analytics and business intelligence reporting tools such as Power BI.
• Certifications such as CPSM, CPSD, CPIM, or CSCP are desired.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with complex spreadsheets and data analysis.
• Knowledge of inventory control best practices.
• Familiarity with supplier management processes.
