The Inventory and Purchasing Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all incoming and outgoing products and supplies within the organization. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of inventory ordering and receiving, which includes devising strategies to optimize inventory control procedures. The manager will collaborate with various employees across departments to ensure that business goals are met effectively and efficiently. This role requires a keen analytical mindset to analyze data and anticipate future inventory needs, ensuring that the company is always prepared to meet demand without overstocking or understocking products. In addition to inventory management, the Inventory and Purchasing Manager will utilize specialized software to monitor demand and document the characteristics of inventory. A significant part of the role involves establishing and maintaining continuous improvement practices, such as the 2 Second Lean methodology, problem-solving techniques like KATA, and conducting Root Cause analysis to address any issues that arise in the inventory process. The manager will also be responsible for negotiating with vendors to secure the best pricing for products and supplies, ensuring that the company maintains its competitive edge while adhering to ISO 9001:2015 departmental standards. The position requires strict adherence to all company policies and procedures, ensuring that all inventory management practices align with the organization's overall operational goals. The Inventory and Purchasing Manager will compile various reports, including daily reports for different departments, weekly inventory reports, and end-of-month accounting reports, which are essential for maintaining transparency and accountability in inventory management.
