About the position

The Inventory Purchasing Specialist is responsible for overseeing the purchasing of cannabis products, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of the cannabis industry and the ability to build relationships with vendors. The specialist will work cross-functionally, audit standard operating procedures, and utilize inventory management software to enhance purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the purchasing of cannabis products, ensuring optimal inventory levels and variety to meet customer demand.
• Regularly review and audit standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with cannabis brands and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and secure high-quality products.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with relevant regulatory standards and company policies.
• Identify, recognize, and execute operational tasks to enhance purchasing processes and overall efficiency.
• Utilize METRC for inventory tracking and compliance purposes.
• Efficiently navigate and manage inventory through Treez POS.
• Stay updated on industry trends, product knowledge, and emerging brands to make informed purchasing decisions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years in purchasing cannabis products.
• Extensive knowledge of cannabis products and industry standards.
• Proficient in METRC and Treez POS.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with brands and suppliers.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify operational tasks, and take initiative.
• Strong ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with other departments.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
