About the position

The Manager of Inventory, Quality, and Control at CVS Health is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management and quality assurance within the distribution center. This position is integral to ensuring that inventory levels are accurate and that quality standards are met for all incoming and outgoing products. The manager will work closely with various departments, including Distribution Operations, Corporate Compliance, and Security, to develop and improve processes that maximize operational efficiencies. The role requires a strong focus on driving performance in assigned operational areas, contributing to profit, expense, and customer service goals, while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. In this role, the manager will lead initiatives aimed at streamlining inventory management processes, implementing best practices, and optimizing inventory accuracy. This includes conducting regular cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliations to minimize discrepancies. The manager will also establish and enforce quality standards, conduct inspections and audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any defects or discrepancies in products and processes. Team leadership is a critical component of this position, as the manager will mentor a team of inventory control and quality assurance associates, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Additionally, the manager will oversee asset protection activities, ensuring the implementation of security measures to protect company assets and reduce shrinkage. This role is essential in maintaining a safe environment for employees and vendors while driving the overall success of the distribution center.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes and enhance efficiency
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize inventory accuracy and minimize waste
  • Drive initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory metrics
  • Strategically manage slotting activities and projects aligned to the continuous improvement roadmap
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accurate inventory levels
  • Coordinate and conduct regular cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliations to minimize discrepancies
  • Analyze inventory data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
  • Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for incoming and outgoing products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Implement quality control measures to identify and address defects or discrepancies in products, packaging, and documentation
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to assess the effectiveness of quality management systems
  • Join forces with cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Lead and mentor a team of inventory control and quality assurance associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department
  • Ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and compliance standards at all times
  • Manage, coordinate, and control activities relating to asset protection and loss containment
  • Oversee the implementation and management of security measures to protect company assets, reduce shrink, and ensure a safe environment for employees and vendors
  • Build security and alarm systems, conduct investigations, and coordinate with law enforcement agencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred or verifiable High School Diploma/GED accompanied by 10+ years of related on the job experience in lieu of degree
  • 8 to 10 years of related work experience required
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory control, quality management, asset protection, or related roles, preferably in a distribution or logistics environment
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, quality assurance standards, investigations, and regulatory requirements
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team and drive results
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance
