About the position

As the Inventory/Quality Control Manager for our perishable distribution center, you will play a crucial role in managing and administering the overall quality and inventory control processes. This position is essential for ensuring the accuracy and flow of inventory, particularly for perishable goods, which require strict adherence to food safety policies and procedures. You will be responsible for analyzing and publishing inventory reports, measuring and monitoring the cycle counting program, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding food safety. In this role, you will maintain and exceed all inventory accuracy goals, publish reports, analyze data, and track performance by area. You will coordinate all functions of the statistical-based cycle counting and ensure that date-sensitive products are checked for expiration. Your responsibilities will also include setting up and changing stock keeping units (SKUs) in strategic pick locations, scheduling cycle counts, and leading the Mid-Year and Year-End Inventory reconciliation processes. Additionally, you will monitor and maintain proper documentation for “Return to Vendor” products and ensure compliance with customs regulations. Quality control is a significant aspect of this position, where you will document inspection results, ensure consistent execution of food safety procedures, and assist in developing methods for evaluating and inspecting products and processes. You will also support audits and inspections administered by health authorities and third parties, ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer overall quality and inventory control processes for the perishable distribution center.
  • Analyze and publish inventory reports; measure and monitor the cycle counting program.
  • Implement food safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain and exceed all inventory accuracy goals.
  • Coordinate all functions of statistical-based cycle counting and estimated statistical sampling.
  • Ensure date-sensitive products are checked for expiration and quantities are correct.
  • Schedule and complete cycle counts timely and accurately in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Lead Mid-Year and Year-End Inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Monitor and maintain documentation for 'Return to Vendor' products.
  • Develop budget and monitor expenses related to inventory control.

Requirements

  • Two years' experience in inventory control systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of distribution center operations preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of customs regulations preferred.
