About the position

The Inventory Specialist / Demand Planner role at The Greysmith Companies involves managing inventory levels and forecasting demand to support the organization's supply chain operations. The position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel to evaluate replenishment programs, conduct forecast maintenance, and collaborate with various teams to align demand forecasts with production strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate all replenished programs by item and make recommendations for reorders.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly forecast maintenance.
  • Develop effective forecast models based on historical data, market trends, demand patterns, and seasonality.
  • Collect data from internal and external sources on factors known to affect demand.
  • Model the data to forecast future demand.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
  • Review and analyze customer sales reports and provide all line review change recommendations.
  • Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts and business strategies and communicate forecast estimations to management.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand promotional activities and their impact on demand.
  • Work closely with supply chain and operations to align demand forecasts with production and inventory management strategies.
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Design and prepare reporting to translate business results and metrics into insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Monitor the status of monthly, quarterly, and annually, and communicate that information to the Senior Management team, including annual sales projections and budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably with a major in Supply Chain or Operations.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Mid-level analysis skills.
  • Experience in inventory control and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and demand planning.
