About the position

As an Operations Specialist - Omni at Petco, you will play a crucial role in the operational execution within the Pet Care Center, focusing specifically on our Omni channel. This position aligns with Petco's vision of 'Healthier Pets. Happier People. Better World.' Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient execution of all Omni channel processes, including Ship from Store (SFS) operations. This involves maintaining consistency in product picking, packaging, and shipping within the Pet Care Center. You will work towards reducing the time spent on SFS operations by increasing familiarity with processes and implementing efficiencies. Additionally, you will assist in receiving merchandise and supplies, ensuring accurate stocking, and providing guest service as needed. The role encompasses a variety of tasks governed by operational guidelines, requiring individual judgment occasionally to complete assigned tasks. You will support effective and efficient operations across the Pet Care Center, assist in daily SFS picking, packing, and shipping, and help unload and stock merchandise according to operational guidelines. Your duties will also include processing register transactions to create a great experience for each guest, adhering to safety procedures, and performing routine housekeeping tasks to maintain the professional image of the Pet Care Center. Moreover, you will participate in quarterly and annual physical inventory counts, complete Omni Channel and SFS projects following established policies and procedures, and analyze on-site conditions to recommend necessary corrections. Communication with Pet Care Center Leaders will be essential to report on unfinished orders and provide necessary corrections. This position requires a collaborative spirit, as you will engage with your team to create a culture centered around the health and wellness needs of pets, while also having opportunities for personal and professional growth through developmental programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the effective and efficient operations across the Pet Care Center.
  • Assist in completion of daily SFS picking, packing, & shipping.
  • Assist with the unloading and stocking of merchandise supplies according to operational guidelines.
  • Process register transactions to create a great experience for each guest.
  • Be proficient within the selling model and support guest interactions as needed.
  • Adhere to and promote established safety procedures.
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks to maintain the professional image of the Pet Care Center.
  • Participate in the completion of quarterly and annual physical inventory counts.
  • Complete Omni Channel and SFS projects following policies & procedures.
  • Analyze on-site conditions in comparison to written plans and recommend necessary corrections.
  • Coordinate with Pet Care Center/Field partners to ensure proper setup and stocking of SFS equipment.
  • Communicate with Pet Care Center Leaders about unfinished orders and corrections needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and above-average communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor with a genuine interest in animal care.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills due to public interaction.
