About the position

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and organizing inventory within a refrigerated warehouse environment at a produce company. This role requires expertise in warehouse operations, inventory management processes, and the ability to work efficiently in a cold environment while ensuring accurate stock levels and maintaining safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize inventory in refrigerated areas of the warehouse.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management processes.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems and software, such as Entrée and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Operate material handling equipment (MHE) and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving heavy items.
  • Maintain strong organization and multitasking skills to manage inventory levels and ensure accurate stock counts.
  • Identify discrepancies or errors in inventory records with attention to detail.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with other departments.
  • Solve problems related to inventory discrepancies or challenges.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments.
  • Unpack and shelve items in designated locations.
  • Update inventory records using computerized systems.
  • Conduct regular daily stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Label and tag items for easy identification.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to replenish stock.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Follow proper safety protocols and guidelines.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience in inventory control (preferred).
  • 2 years of forklift experience (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish and English (preferred).
  • Physical fitness to operate MHE and perform lifting tasks.

  • Experience with inventory tracking systems and software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a pay rate of $19.00 per hour.
  • 40 expected hours per week with an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, with weekends as needed.
