About the position

The Inventory Specialist at Walgreens is responsible for managing and executing inventory best practices across the store, including both front end and pharmacy operations. This role involves monitoring inventory processes, training staff, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory records. The specialist also plays a key role in enhancing customer experience by engaging with customers and resolving issues, while also overseeing operational tasks related to inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Execute, monitor, and train on inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the store.
• Support pharmacy inventory management activities including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.
• Champion On-Shelf Availability and manage all in-store inventory processes including receiving, counting, pricing, and returns.
• Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.
• Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications impacting inventory accuracy.
• Execute and maintain asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse and vendor discrepancies.
• Open and close the store in the absence of management, handling cash and ensuring readiness for business operations.
• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes.

Requirements

• Experience in inventory management and retail operations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory processes.
• Ability to engage with customers and resolve issues effectively.
• Familiarity with pharmacy operations and inventory management systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of inventory management software and systems.
